IAM Conference, NYC

Susan Govatos and I traveled together to NYC for the IAMEncounter 09 annual conference. Dr. Nicolas Wolsterstorff, author of Art in Action gave the opening address to prepare us for the weekend. There were more seminars than we could attend, but the emphasis was putting Art in Action in our communities and the nation. A few offerings were: Creativity in the Worship Arts, Art as Business, Pastor/Ministry Leader's Reountable, Musings on Faith, Vocation and Culture, Home Artist Salon, Aesthetics and the 21st Century, Networking Groups and film shorts and documentaries. One encouragement for me is the upcoming Gathering the Creative Believers which is being organized by Scott Howe, an IAM attendee for this Saturday, Mar 28 at Plaza Theatre in Orlando.
